This black tea gets its traditionally smoky flavor during the leaf drying process. During drying, the leaves are roasted in a bamboo basket heated over a fire made of wood and pine needles. Historians tell us that Lapsang Souchong was one of the teas tossed overboard during the Boston Tea Party, but don't take it out on the tea. It was just in the wrong harbor at the wrong time.
INGREDIENTS: Smoked black tea.
STEEPING GUIDE: Use 1-2 tsp of tea to 1 cup boiling water. Let steep for 3-5 minutes. For stronger tea, use more leaves.
